Akin to ocean into which waters enter from all sides, yet it remains steady

One who is निर्स्थित प्रज्ञ nirsthitapragya:

Man thinks of objects —> attachment to them arises —>  desire

Desire —> anger + delusion + loss of discrimination —> no knowledge of Self

No knowledge of Self —> unsteady —> no meditation possible —> no peace

No peace  —> perishes eventually

Even in a wise man, the turbulent senses violently carry away the mind though he may be striving hard to control them

Mind that follows in the wake of the wandering senses, carries away discrimination as the wind carries away a boat on the waters

From निरस्थितप्रज्ञ nirsthitapragya  —> To स्थितप्रज्ञ sthitaprajna

+

Withdraw senses from the sense-objects —> discrimination becomes steady

Akin to a tortoise that withdraws its limbs from all sides

+

This may turn away his senses, but may still leave the longing

Sthitaprajna, thus, without the effect of desires and sense objects, attains absolute bliss.
